Often experience can be the worst teacher. A lifetime of external situations outside of out control shackle us to a life of dissatisfaction like an arcane binding spell, yet if we focus our will on a transformation, we break forth from this cocoon with the glory of ten thousand butterflies. - Mark Humes, The Book Of Lost Verses: Book 9

As I began to paint with my brush of light, I thought about all the things that tie me to my current life.

Experiences voluntary and forced.
The third party experiences intrusively pushed into my mind that has nothing to do with me.

It all formed chains that bound me but the force of will called out from deep inside me saying cast aside all you know.

One by one I transformed the false beliefs my experiences had taught me learning the power is in actions not thoughts and memories.

I turned ten thousand negatives into butterflies, and as their wings began to beat they tore apart every chain, every bar and every arcane trick of social and psychological control over me.

The only path to freedom is self-rule but in this pursuit see to it your ideas are your own as the enemies of the human spirit have always offered the trade of personal liberty and social acceptability in place of true freedom.

This work of art will be a feature in my soon to be released book, The Book Of Lost Verses: Book 9 that has a tentative release date of November 2018 and is currently available as a print at Mark Humes Gallery.
