Past the shallow reality, we all see are many dimensional layers. Once you have seen past the mundane construct we think is the universe you are forever changed and begin to realize how small we are in the grand scheme of the cosmos. - Mark Humes, The Book Of Lost Verses: Book 9

I stared into a black void and let the world I am surrounded by fall away, As I did stray thoughts, feelings, and memories bombarded my mind.

I reached out into the blackness and placed a single point of light in that space.

It was at that point my thoughts and energy had become manifest in this surface reality, and I allowed this conjuration to continue.

My hands continued to add chaos to the emptiness as my errant thoughts
began to take on a pattern.

A vision of a fluidic dimension filled my mind, Creatures both hideous and beautiful occupied this place.

Life seething on top of life creating and destroying with all the ecstasy and horror only the living can know.

My flawed human thinking began inserting its self into this universe assigning all to familiar rolls to it all.

The beast, hero, villain, horrified bystander and barely seen masses who are nothing but fodder.

In this process, I learned a creator could not separate themselves from their creation and if I am capable of this what greater powers are responsible for my existence.

So it came to be that I looked to the nothingness and saw emptiness is an illusion that hides the power of creation and endless worlds that lay past shallow reality.

This work of art will be a feature in my soon to be released book, The Book Of Lost Verses: Book 9 that has a tentative release date of November 2018 and is currently available as a print at Mark Humes Gallery.
